After 27 years, Bill and Melinda Gates Divorce

• Bill and Melinda Gates have been together in marriage for 27 years with three children.

Bill Gates, aged 65, has been ranked the world's fourth wealthiest person. They(he and his divorcing wife, Melinda Gates) together run the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

They have announced of their divorce after 27 years of marriage, saying, "We no longer believe we can grow together as a couple"

They also twitted, "After a great deal of thought and a lot of work on our relationship, we have made the decision to end our marriage,"

According to BBC WORLD NEWS, the couple met in the 1980s, when Melinda joined the Microsoft firm.

Both posted the statement announcing their Divorce on Twitter

The statement reads, "Over the last 27 years, we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works all over the world to enable all people to lead healthy, productive lives,"

Adding, " We continue to share a belief in that mission and will continue our work together at the foundation, but we no longer believe we can grow together as a couple in the next phase of our lives.

"We ask for space and privacy for our family as we begin to navigate this new life."
